Allan Steinmetz really loves their spouse, Sarina. But kid, did he screw up.

“HELP ME PLEASE,” Steinmetz’s impassioned plea starts on a flier tacked to a software application pole in Newton. In a rush of panicked money letters, he describes wherever he went incorrect:

“I MADE A LARGE ERROR AND MISTAKENLY SOLD the WIFE’S BIKE THAT HER DEAR FATHER GAVE HER 60 YEARS BACK. IT HAD GREAT SENTIMENTAL VALUE TO HER, AND I MISTAKENLY SOLD IT. SHE DESPERATELY WANTS IT BACK.”

The bike under consideration is a vintage French Motobecane Grand Touring bike, canary yellow with straight handlebars — a flourish her daddy added “so she could stay high and stay proud,” Steinmetz stated.

Sarina Steinmetz’s father that is late a Holocaust survivor associated with Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps, “only purchased the very best of everything,” Steinmetz stated, and then he provided Sarina the bike as a present whenever she had been 16. Their spouse decided to pass through the bike down with their granddaughter.

Now, Sarina, Steinmetz’s spouse of 44 “generally pleased” years, is distraught.

“I screwed up, you realize, i must say i produced mistake that is huge I’m paying the results,” Steinmetz told the planet. “I’m doing whatever i could to assist her feel much better, and making her feel much better means finding that bicycle.”
